Extending a Dependent KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) is a formal process that allows a foreign national's family members—a spouse and/or children—to prolong their legal residency in Indonesia. The validity of the dependent's KITAS is directly tied to the primary sponsor's KITAS (e.g., a Work, Investor, or Retirement KITAS). This process must be initiated within Indonesia, typically up to two months before the current KITAS expires, and requires in-person visits to the local immigration office for biometrics.
The Dependent KITAS extension is a necessary step to renew a family member's temporary stay permit.
